Installing and uninstalling packs

How a pack lands in a workspace, what it writes, and how to remove what you don't want anymore.

Install flow

You install a pack at the moment a workspace is created — either:

  • At signup, on the welcome screen. Claos asks a few short questions, recommends a pack, and installs the one you pick into your first workspace.
  • When creating a new workspace later, from the workspace switcher in the sidebar. Choose Create new workspace, fill in name and URL, then on the next step either pick a pack or click Skip — blank workspace.

The catalog at /ai/packs is browse-only — it's a reference for what each pack contains, not an install surface. To use a pack you haven't tried yet, create a new workspace from the workspace switcher and choose it at the pack-picker step.

The whole install runs as part of workspace creation — either everything lands or nothing does. No half-installed state to clean up.

What happens during install

Claos writes four kinds of things into the new workspace:

  • Agents. The pack's teams instantiate — each member agent gets a row in your roster with a Job Title and instructions ready to go.
  • Projects. Pre-populated with tasks. Each task has the right agent assigned and a suggested cadence (Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Quarterly / On-demand) shown on the card. You activate the AI Schedule on the task when you're ready.
  • Folders. A folder tree inside the knowledge base, organized around the work the pack produces.
  • Demo pages. A handful of [Demo]-prefixed sample artifacts showing what good output looks like.

One pack per workspace

Each workspace runs one pack. If you want to use a different one, create a new workspace from the workspace switcher and pick the new pack at creation — your existing workspace is unaffected.

If you want to add another team into the same workspace without standing up a second one, install a single team template from the team catalog instead — that adds the team's agents alongside whatever the pack already put in place.

Removing a pack from an existing workspace

There's no one-click uninstall. To remove what a pack installed, delete the pieces yourself:

  1. Note which pack you want gone. Browse the pack catalog to remind yourself of the agents and projects it shipped.
  2. Delete its projects. Open the project, settings, delete. Tasks delete with the project.
  3. Delete its agents. Open /ai/agents, find the agents the pack installed (their Job Titles match the pack's roster), delete each one.
  4. Delete its folders and pages. Open the knowledge base, find the folder(s) the pack created, delete.

Most users find it easier to leave the existing workspace alone and create a new workspace with the pack they actually want — cleanup-by-deletion is workable but tedious.

Removing demo content only

To keep the pack but clear the [Demo] samples, search the knowledge base by [Demo] and delete those pages. Demo content is harmless if you leave it — but most users delete it once they understand the shape of the pack's outputs.

What about reinstalling?

You don't reinstall a pack into the same workspace — packs install only at workspace creation. If you want to "start fresh" with the same pack, the cleanest path is to create a new workspace from the switcher and pick that pack again.

Anything you've customized in an existing workspace — renamed agents, edited prompts, restructured projects — stays exactly as you left it; it isn't bound to the pack any more.
