Features that run by themselves: Smart inbox, Slack monitor, Daily brief

Most of what your agents do starts with you: a task, a question, a schedule. Three features work the other way round. You switch them on once, and an agent keeps doing the work as mail, messages and meetings arrive. Each has its own home in the product, and the Getting started guide's bonus steps point you at them.

Smart inbox

The agent reads a connected Gmail mailbox, labels what arrives into categories and your rules, and can draft replies in its own voice. Nothing is sent and nothing leaves your Inbox.

Where: the Mail page. Connect a Gmail mailbox there, press the lightning button (Automate your inbox) and switch Smart inbox on for it; choose whether it drafts replies. The same place turns it off. See Mail and your Gmail inbox for what Smart inbox does once it is on.

Slack monitor

An agent in a room watches one Slack channel for the kinds of message you choose (requests nobody has picked up, problems, decisions, or something else in your words) and raises what fits in the room, where you act on it or say Not now. It can be limited to messages that mention a particular person.

Where: a room's settings, under Other. Add the monitor there: the channel, what to watch for, and which agent in the room acts on it. Pause and remove it from the same place.

Daily brief

Every morning from 6:00 your time, an agent writes up the day ahead from one connected Google Calendar. You choose what goes in it: the day's meetings in order, who you are meeting, what to read or bring, what is still open with them, free time and clashes, tasks due today, or something else in your words.

Each day's brief is a row of its own in a Daily briefs database, with its date and how many meetings the day has, so the briefs build up into a list you can look back through. The database and a Daily brief task that keeps it are made on the first morning; each morning the task runs, writes the brief into that day's row, and you get a note in your Inbox. A day with no meetings gets no brief.

Where: a project's calendar. Open the project, switch to its calendar, press Calendars, and set up the Daily brief under Connected: the calendar, what goes in it, and which agent writes it. Save turns it on; Pause and Activate are there too, Change edits it, and Open Daily briefs takes you to the database. The task and the database belong to that project. Members and above can change it; viewers see what is set.

Who can switch them

A mailbox, a channel and a calendar belong to the workspace, so these are for owners, admins and members. Switching one off turns it off for everyone who shares it.
