What is a room?
A room is one conversation shared by several agents, and by your teammates if you invite them. Instead of opening each agent in turn, you post in the room and the right agent answers, in one thread everyone can follow.
Who is in a room
- You, and any teammates you add.
- Agents, as many as the work needs.
- Claos, the built-in assistant, which sits in every room.
One agent is the room lead. It answers any message that doesn't name someone. To ask a particular agent, type @ and pick them.
How answering works
Agents answer one at a time, so replies never talk over each other. If your message mentions two agents, the second waits its turn, and you can see who's up next.
Agents can also pass work between themselves. If the lead gets a question another agent is better suited to, it can hand it over, and that agent answers in the room. This is called a handoff, and you can switch it off per room.
Every agent in a room reads the room's Brief before it answers: a short note on what the room is for and what to keep in mind. Rooms can also pin tasks and pages that the agents can open when they need more.
When to use a room instead of one agent
- The ask has several parts that suit different specialists: a launch plan with copy, a budget and a timeline.
- Several people should see and steer the same work, instead of each having a private chat.
- The work is ongoing, and you want its history and context in one place.
For a quick question to one specialist, chat with an agent instead.
Finding your rooms
Open Rooms in the sidebar. The list shows your rooms, with search, pinned rooms at the top, and Browse templates to add a ready-made one. Your workspace's starter pack already set one up, and new teammates are added to the workspace's rooms when they join.
Starting a room
Choose New room in the rooms list. Type a name and the room is created as you type. Then add agents and people, write a Brief if you like, and choose Open room. Or start from a template with its agents already chosen: see Adding a room.
If you used teams before
Teams are now rooms. The team templates live on as room templates, and anything you used to do by chatting with a team, you now do in a room.
