Real-time presence

Open a page that a teammate is also looking at and you'll see their avatar at the top. Start editing while they're editing and you'll see their cursor in real time, colour-coded to their identity. There's no save button to press, no refresh to do — typed characters appear as they're typed.

This is the live-collaboration layer for pages. It's what makes a Claos page feel like a shared whiteboard instead of a document you take turns with.

Presence avatars

Each page header shows the people currently looking at the page. Their avatars cluster at the top right; hover an avatar to see the person's name. Avatars come and go as people open and close the page, so the line-up reflects who's there right now.

If you don't see avatars, you're the only one on the page.

Live cursors and edits

When two or more people edit the same page at the same time:

• Each person's cursor renders in a unique colour.
• Typed text appears as it's typed — letter by letter, including formatting changes.
• Selections show as coloured highlights, so you can see what a teammate is about to act on.

There's no merge step. Edits flow in continuously and the editor reconciles them; both people see the same final document at every moment.

Tips and gotchas

• Presence is page-only. Two people editing the same task title fall back to last-write-wins. For collaborative drafting, write on a page rather than in a task field.
• You see the cursor, not "Sam is typing." Presence shows where people are pointed; it doesn't add a typing indicator on top.
• Refreshing isn't required. If you suspect something is out of sync, the answer is almost always that the page is already up to date. Refresh is a fallback, not a habit.
• Colours are per session. If a teammate closes and reopens the page, their cursor colour may change. Avatars stay stable.
• Avatars don't notify. Presence is a passive signal. If you want a teammate's attention, @mention them in a comment.
