Customizing Claos
Claos is the assistant that comes with every workspace. It's the one you talk to in the chat bubble, the first agent on the Agents page, and it sits in every room. When a task or a schedule has no agent of its own, Claos does the work.
Claos already knows how to work in Claos. You don't have to set anything up, but you can shape it to fit how your workspace works.
Opening Claos's settings
Open Agents in the sidebar and pick Claos at the top of the list. Then choose the settings button at the top of the conversation (its tooltip says Open Claos's settings).
The panel shows Claos as the Built-in workspace assistant, the rooms it's in, and four tabs: Instructions, Plugins, Skills and Memory.
Instructions
Claos comes with its own operating instructions, which are part of the product and stay up to date by themselves. You don't see them, and you can't remove them.
What you can do is add to them. Anything you write on the Instructions tab is given to Claos in every chat, on top of what it already knows. Use it for standing guidance that's particular to your workspace, for example:
- "Our company is called Harbour Studio. We design websites for restaurants."
- "Write in British English."
- "When someone asks for a summary, keep it to five bullet points."
Changes save as you type. Generate drafts instructions for you, and Rewrite reworks the ones you have.
Only owners and admins can change Claos's instructions. Everyone else can read them.
Plugins
The Plugins tab lists the connected apps Claos may use, such as Gmail or Google Drive, the same way it does for any agent. An owner or admin chooses them. Sensitive actions still ask for approval before they run. See Giving an agent access to an integration.
Skills
The Skills tab works exactly like any agent's: add ready-made skills, write your own, or pick ones already in your workspace. Claos opens a skill when a task calls for it. See Skills.
Memory
The Memory tab shows what Claos remembers just for itself, and the list every agent shares. You can add, edit and remove memories there, and an owner or admin on a paid plan can switch on Let Claos manage this memory so Claos keeps the list up to date from your chats. See Agent memory.
What you can't change
Claos is part of every workspace, so a few things are fixed:
- Its name, Job Title, description and avatar.
- It can't be deleted, duplicated, saved as a template or shared.
- Its built-in operating instructions. You can add to them, not replace them.
If you want an assistant with a different name or a completely different brief, build a custom agent instead.
Asking another agent from a Claos chat
In a chat with Claos, type @ and pick one of your agents to have that agent answer the next message, without leaving the conversation. Chats with your own agents don't have this, because each of those is with one agent only. To work with several agents together, use a room.
Who can do what
- Owners and admins can change Claos's instructions, plugins, skills and memory setting.
- Members can read Claos's settings and add, edit and remove memories.
- Viewers can read Claos's settings and memory.
