What this room is for

Brief

Overview

This room covers client delivery from the first proposal to the final invoice. It spans what was promised to a client, what is actually being built for them, how much of the retainer is left, and which prospective clients are worth chasing next. Retainer and project work run side by side, so several client engagements are usually moving at once. Much of the difficulty is scope: client projects tend to sprawl past what was agreed, and a retainer can run hot well before anyone notices. Status reporting sits across all of it, because it is how a client sees what the work is worth.

Key topics

  1. Proposals and new business: which clients are worth chasing and what gets promised to win them.
  2. Client delivery: what is being built for each client against what the engagement promised.
  3. Retainer health: how much of each retainer is left and whether the work is burning through it too fast.
  4. Client status: how progress is reported back so a client can see where their work stands.
  5. Engagement wrap-up: closing an engagement out, from the final invoice to what is kept for next time.
