Trash

Trash

When you delete something in Claos, it isn't gone. It moves to Trash, and it stays there until someone restores it or an admin deletes it permanently. Nothing in Trash expires on its own.

Open it from Trash at the bottom of the sidebar, just above Settings.

What goes to Trash

Deleting any of these moves it to Trash:

  • Tasks
  • Pages and folders
  • Projects
  • Databases
  • Agents
  • Rooms
  • Skills

Trash belongs to the workspace, so everyone in it sees the same list.

Finding something

The row of tabs across the top filters by type: All, Projects, Tasks, Folders, Pages, Databases, Agents, Rooms and Skills. Each tab shows how many items of that type are in Trash.

Type in Search by name to narrow the list.

Each row shows the item's name, where it lived ("in Marketing", for example, or "in Marketing, also deleted" when that folder or project is in Trash too), when it was deleted ("Deleted today", "Deleted 3 days ago") and who created it.

The list shows the 100 most recently deleted items of each type. If there are more, a line at the bottom says how many older items aren't shown.

Restoring

Click Restore on a row to put the item back where it was. To restore several at once, tick their boxes (or the select all box at the top of the list) and click Restore in the bar that appears.

A few things come back together:

  • A database comes back with the rows that were deleted along with it. A row you deleted on its own earlier stays in Trash.
  • A room comes back with the threads deleted with it. A room that was archived before it was deleted comes back archived.
  • A skill comes back attached to the same agents, and the message after you restore it names them.

Folders work differently. Deleting a folder moves the pages inside it to Trash as well, each as its own row. Restoring the folder brings back the folder only, so restore the pages you want from the Pages tab too.

Deleting permanently

Workspace owners and admins can delete items for good:

  • One item: click the bin icon on its row, then confirm.
  • Several items: select them and click Delete, then Delete permanently.
  • Everything: on the All tab, click Empty Trash, then Empty trash.

The confirmation says what you're about to lose. For a large batch (20 items or more), or one that includes an agent or a room, you also type DELETE to confirm.

Deleting permanently can't be undone. Deleting an agent for good also deletes its memories, though its past runs stay in the history. Deleting a room for good removes its threads and messages; the agents that took part are not deleted.

Who can do what

  • Owners and admins can restore anything and delete anything permanently, including emptying Trash.
  • Members can restore items they created. Restoring something someone else created needs an admin or the owner.
  • Viewers can see Trash but can't restore or delete anything.

On a phone

Trash works the same way. Restore shows as an arrow icon on each row, and the name of the person who created each item is hidden to save space.
