Invoices and payment methods
Invoices, payment methods, billing email, and cancellation all live in the Stripe customer portal. Claos doesn't host its own invoice viewer or card form — Stripe does.
How to get there
Open Settings → Billing → Manage Subscription. A new tab opens with the Stripe customer portal scoped to your account (or your workspace, on a team plan).
What you can do in the portal
- View and download past invoices. Every invoice is downloadable as a PDF. The invoice shows the billing period, line items, and any tax that applied.
- Update your payment method. Add a new card, set the default, remove old cards.
- Update the billing email. By default this is your account email; change it in the portal if billing should go to a different address — your finance team, for example.
- Cancel your subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access until then.
Personal vs. team subscriptions
- Personal subscriptions (Free / Starter / Plus / Pro) — the portal is scoped to your personal Stripe customer. Anyone signed in as you can open it.
- Team subscriptions (Team / Team Pro) — the portal is scoped to the workspace's Stripe customer. Only workspace owners and admins can open it. Other members see a permission message if they try.
Tax and company details
Stripe handles tax automatically where Claos is registered. If you need invoices to carry your company name, billing address, or a VAT or GST identifier, set those in the portal's billing details. Invoices issued after the change include them; past invoices don't update retroactively.
What if your card fails
Stripe retries the charge a few times across the days after the failure and emails the billing email address. If retries don't succeed, the subscription enters a past-due state — you'll see a banner in Settings → Billing, and access to paid features is reduced until the card is fixed.
Tips and gotchas
- The portal opens in a new tab. When you finish in Stripe, close the tab to return to Claos. Changes sync back automatically.
- Team billing is admin-only. If you need to update a card on a team plan and you're not an owner or admin, an admin needs to open the portal — or invite you as one if that's appropriate.
- No in-app invoice list. Past invoices aren't browsable from inside Claos. The portal is the place for them.
