Exporting and deleting a workspace
You can take a copy of your workspace's data at any time, and the owner can delete a workspace when it's no longer needed. A deleted workspace can be restored for 30 days.
Exporting your data
Go to Settings, Export Data. There are three downloads, each with a Download button:
- Export Tasks (CSV): every task as a spreadsheet, with its title, status, assignee, due date, when it was created and its description.
- Export Pages (Markdown): every page in one Markdown file, with headings, lists and formatting kept.
- Export All Data (JSON): a full backup of the workspace's projects, tasks, pages, labels and members, for keeping or for moving to another tool.
The file downloads straight away. Exports leave out anything in Trash, and they don't include uploaded files, agents or chats.
Only workspace owners and admins can export. Members and viewers see the page, but the download is refused.
Deleting a workspace
Only the workspace's owner can delete it.
- Go to Settings, General.
- At the bottom, in Danger zone, click Delete workspace.
- Type the workspace's URL name (the part shown under Workspace URL) to confirm, then click Delete workspace.
The workspace disappears for everyone in it straight away, and you're taken to another of your workspaces.
If it's your only workspace, the dialog tells you: next time you open Claos you'll start in a new, empty workspace.
If the workspace has a team plan, cancel it first. Deleting a workspace doesn't cancel its subscription. Go to Settings, Team plan and click Cancel team plan. See Upgrading and downgrading.
Restoring a deleted workspace
For 30 days after you delete a workspace, you can bring it back exactly as it was, with its members, pages, tasks and everything else.
- Open the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar.
- Under Recently deleted, click Restore followed by the workspace's name.
Only the owner sees this option. Members of a deleted workspace lose access to it until the owner restores it.
After 30 days the workspace and everything in it are deleted permanently, and it can't be restored. Until then its URL name stays taken, so you can't create a new workspace with the same one.
