Create your workspace
Signing up creates your workspace automatically. There's no multi-step wizard to walk through — Claos hands you a working workspace named after you, then walks you into picking a starter team.
This article covers what signing up actually does, where you land, and how to make the auto-named workspace your own.
Two options at /signup:
- Email and password. Enter both, then check your inbox for a six-digit confirmation code. Type it back and you're in.
- Continue with Google. One click via your Google account. No verification step.
A workspace is waiting
The moment your account is created, a workspace is created with it. The default name is {Your first name}'s Workspace and the URL is the slugged version — acme-marketing for "Acme Marketing", jess-workspace if you're Jess. Inside it, an AI folder is already set up with sub-folders for memory and outputs.
You don't get asked to fill anything out. The workspace is ready; you just need a starter team.
You land at the welcome screen
After signup, Claos drops you at /app/{your-slug}/welcome. What happens there depends on how you arrived:
- If you picked a pack on the marketing site before signing up, Claos installs it automatically. A short "welcome back" splash plays while the install runs, then you're at the workspace home.
- If you signed up cold, Claos asks you a few short questions to recommend a pack — what brings you here, what's eating your time, what shape of work — and installs the one you choose.
Pack install is the moment the workspace fills up: agents, projects, folders, and a handful of [Demo] sample pages. See Install your first pack for the full flow.
Rename or re-slug later
The auto-generated name and URL stay editable. Open /settings from the sidebar and change either. A few rules on the slug: 3–60 characters, lowercase letters and digits, hyphens allowed in the middle. A handful of words are reserved (settings, admin, a few others) — Claos will tell you if you pick one.
Changing the slug creates a redirect from the old URL, so links you've already shared keep working.
Customize later
- Theme. Light / dark / system, editor font, timezone, date format —
/settings/appearance. - Invite teammates.
/settings/members. The full flow lives in Inviting members. - Your profile. Display name, avatar, password —
/settings/profile. See Your profile.
Tips and gotchas
- The verification code expires after a short window. If it times out, click "Send a new code" on the prompt screen.
- Slug changes create redirects, so old links don't break — but the new URL is what teammates will see going forward. Give people a heads-up if you change it.
- If you signed up and the workspace home is empty when you arrive, you've skipped the welcome step somehow. The cleanest fix is to create a new workspace from the workspace switcher (top-left of the sidebar) and pick a pack on the second step. Your empty first workspace can stay or be deleted later.
