The Dinodex

The Dinodex is your collection of Claos Family characters: 139 dinosaurs in 11 sets, from Long-Necked Sauropods to Tyrannosaurs. You start with nine of them, and you collect the rest as you work. Characters are just for fun: they don't change what your agents can do.

Your collection belongs to you, not to a workspace, so it comes with you into every workspace you join.

Opening it

  • On a computer: the level card at the bottom of the sidebar, or Dinodex in the menu under your avatar.
  • On a phone: open the sidebar and tap the level card. A badge on it shows how many eggs are waiting.

At the top you'll see your level and how much XP you need for the next one (for example, 120 XP to level 6), with four counts: Discovered, Sets, Holo and Total XP. Below that, every set has its own row. Characters you have are in colour; the ones you haven't found yet are silhouettes.

Earning XP and eggs

You earn XP whenever your agents work for you: in chat, in rooms and on tasks. Every level you reach brings an egg, and some levels bring two or three. There are 100 levels.

When an egg arrives you'll see a message, and on a computer an egg sits just above the chat bubble. Click it, or open the Dinodex, to find your eggs in the nest.

Hatching

Tap an egg three times to crack it open. Each egg holds a character you don't have yet, picked at random. Some hatch with a rare Holo finish.

Each hatched character gets a Hatch number (#12 means it was the twelfth of its kind ever hatched), and a Holo has its own Holo number too. The number stays with that character for good, even if it's traded.

Hatching can't be undone, but there's no rush either. Eggs never expire, so you can leave them in the nest as long as you like.

What you can do with a character

Click any character you have to open it. You'll see its rarity, where it came from, which agents are wearing it and a little about it. Then:

  • Set as companion. Your companion appears on your avatar at the top right. You have one at a time; Remove as companion takes it off. You chose your first companion when you set up your account.
  • Assign to agent. Takes you to the Agents page and asks you to Choose an agent to wear it. Click an agent and it puts the character on straight away, with Undo in case you change your mind. You can dress agents you created; admins and owners can dress any agent. Claos keeps its own look.
  • Trade. Offer it to someone else (see below). The nine characters everyone starts with can't be traded.

You can also choose a character from the agent's side: in its settings, click the avatar and open the Characters tab. Only characters you've hatched appear there.

Trading

Trading opens at level 10. Choose Trades at the top of the Dinodex to see Incoming, Outgoing and History, or New offer to start one. You can also choose Trade on any character.

To make an offer:

  1. Choose who can accept it: Anyone with the link, or One person, found by their email address.
  2. Under You give, pick up to 10 of your characters. A Holo finish goes with the character.
  3. Under You ask for, pick up to 10 characters you want back. Leave it empty to send a gift.
  4. Choose Create offer, then Copy link and send it.

The other person opens the link, sees exactly what they give and get, and chooses Accept trade or Decline. Offers last 7 days. You can cancel one of yours from Outgoing while it's still open.

How trades affect your eggs. The offer tells you before you send it. Give away more characters than you receive and you get compensation eggs straight away. Ask for more than you give and some of your future eggs are used up instead. An even swap leaves your eggs as they were.

A few rules keep trades fair: you can't receive a character you already have, and to accept an offer you need to have hatched the characters it asks for.
